SHAH ALAM, 20 MAY: The Royal Klang City Council (MBDK) will introduce 350 historical remains through the Klang Royal City Heritage Trail, said the deputy mayor.
Mohd Zary Affendi Mohd Arif said through the first phase as many as 30 Klang specialties will be revealed to the public.
"Through the Heritage Trail of the Royal City of Klang, we will together take care of the heritage area," he said at the Car-Free Klang Day program yesterday.
The five agencies selected to make the Klang Royal City Heritage Trail a success are Telekom Malaysia, Universiti
Malaya Community, PUSPANITA Klang District, Sime Darby Property Police Assistance and Klang Cooperation Welfare Club (KCCC).
In the meantime, he informed that MBDK will also introduce the Klang River Heritage Trail and the Samu dera Wind Trail by using a boat.
"This starts at Port Klang and Taman Pengkalan Batu jetty along the Kuala Sungai Klang area which is the site of an old fortress during the Klang War.
"In addition to showcasing the natural heritage of the mangrove forest, the life of the Orang Asli community and fishermen, it is also to restore the dignity of old historical sites that are not known to the public," he said.
Almost 2,000 visitors attended the Car Free Klang Day program held at Laman Seni Safari on 19 May 2024.
