KLANG - The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will not allow the perception or stigma of Klang as a 'Colombian City' to continue to cause public concern.
Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said, the persepsi was only created by a few portals starting from the case of a real estate agent being robbed before.
"Datuk Seri Mohd. Shuhaily (Director of Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department) talked to me and see this Klang on any portal write as if it is Colombia City. He said it was actually based on what was 'quoted' in (several) portals.
"We will not allow it. That's why we (PDRM) came from January 15 to February 1 to prevent, arrest, operate in terms of human trafficking, crime. All we do.
"This is all to reduce the crime rate and the important thing is to remove the public's perception and assumption. This is not a Colombian city, this is still the city of Klang, the Royal City," he said at a press conference after doing the Walkabout program at the Pandamaran Morning Market here, today.
According to Razarudin, based on records, the crime rate found in Gombak and Petaling Jaya is higher than in Klang.
Therefore, he gave assurances that the crime rate will continue to decrease, especially in this district.
"I saw, there was nothing, it was clean. Look here safe and no issues. Only when these portals, when there is a single incident such as being robbed and a broken mirror but that is an isolated case. If compared to this year, Gombak, Petaling Jaya and Klang Selatan.
"If you follow last year, Gombak, Kajang, Petaling Jaya will be the new South Klang and this North Klang will fall again (the crime rate). Put in the mind, we will determine that Klang is clean," he stressed.
Previously, Mohd. Shuhaily at the Townhall program at the Klang Hokkien Association stated that the crime rate is not only rising in Klang but he is saddened when Klang is treated like a Colombian city.-KOSMO!ONLINE
