KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah on Monday agreed to declare Klang as the Royal Klang City Council.
The proclamation made the local authority (PBT) the only one with Royal status in the country.
His Majesty's order, the Chairman of the Klang Municipal Council should be interpreted as the Mayor of the Royal Klang City Council, while the Members of the Klang Municipal Council should be interpreted as the Members of the Royal Klang City Council.
Following that, Datin Paduka Noraini Roslan was appointed as Mayor of the Klang Royal City Council.
The ceremony took place at Wyndham Acmar Hotel, Klang on Monday.
