SHAH ALAM, DEC 1: The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) received an award for successfully completing the Sustainable Development Goals roadmap in conjunction with the Malaysian Cities Forum in Kuching, last month.
Its President Noraini Roslan explained that the award was presented by Minister of Local Government Development Nga Kor Ming in recognition of MPK's progress towards the initiative.
"The preparation of the SDG report to measure the implementation and actions of MPK in translating the global agenda to overcome local issues and coordinate local, state and national policies," he said.
In the meantime, he said the local authorities involved also received the smart city early implementation award from the Ministry of Local Government Development (KPKT) in Putrajaya.
He explained that MPK also received special funds from KPKT's smart city initiative amounting to RM200,000.
