KLANG - Members of the Klang Municipal Council (MPK) need to be aware and commit to maintaining the image of the local authority (PBT).
Yang Dipertua (YDP) MPK, Datin Paduka Noraini Roslan said, councilors are part of the administrative system and all their actions will have an impact on MPK's image.
According to him, council members need to carry out their responsibilities by always going to the field, face to face and friendly with the local community in their respective zones.
"Council members are reminded to immediately refer to the YDP, deputy or department director if there is any matter or issue that arises.
"Council members must also always be ready to give insightful and logical views to improve the level of ability and overcome MPK's constraints.
"If a sensitive issue involving race or religion arises, councilors need to discuss with the MPK and act as mediators without taking sides," she said at the MPK Councilors Recognition and Oath Ceremony here on Friday.
At the event, the former Chairman of the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (MAIS) who is also the Orang Besar (OBD) of Klang District, Datuk Mohammed Khusrin Munawi led the list of candidates for the position of MPK Councilor for the 2024/2025 session.
She along with 14 MPK Council members consisting of three representatives of the People's Justice Party (PKR), eight DAP and two representatives of the National Trust Party (Amanah) took the oath in front of Noraini.
