SHAH ALAM, JAN 2: Klang Municipal Council (MPK) Chairperson Datin Paduka Noraini Roslan was appointed as the local authority's mayor effective today.
According to the State Secretary's Office Facebook, the handover of the letter of appointment and mandate was completed by State Secretary Dato' Setia Haris Kasim.
"Congratulations and good luck," he said via Facebook.
For the record, Noraini once served as mayor in the Subang Jaya City Council.
He also held the position of chairman of the Kuala Selangor District Council which now has municipal status from 2011 to 2017.
Holder of a Master of Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, United States also served as head of the urban planning department at MPK from 1989 to 2010 and the Petaling Jaya City Council from 2010 to 2011.
